Furniture Cleaning Methods

No matter what kind of cleaning we use on furniture, we believe it is important to choose the method based on...

A. Which is the safest method...which would do NO damage.

B. Which is the most effective method.

C. If the fabric is a dry clean ("S" labeled) fabric, is it possible to find a wet cleaning method to replace dry cleaning that is safe and effective.

We then establish a chemistry/detergent blend that best suits the fabric, the cleaning challenge and is less likely to leave behind any residues or use any solvents.  Pre-vacuuming is important to remove as many of the soils while dry, before wetting soil that may become "muddy" and more difficult to extract wet than dry.  At that point we have already determined whether we will use...

·      Hot Low Moisture Injection/Extraction

·      Hot Steam Extraction

·      Foam (Low Moisture) Extraction

·      Dry/Solvent Injection Extraction

·      Leather General Cleaning

·      Leather Cleaning with Emollient Refreshing

It's most important that fabric is dried very quickly, so we may use a dryer to accelerate the drying process.  In addition, application of a fabric protector is most effective on a recently cleaning fabric so we recommend one of our FiberGuard or Earthaware Protective Finishes after cleaning.
